organism - jazz/funk/groove

Think Groove Collective, Sex Mob, Soulive, and MMW. Organism takes groove based improvisation to a whole new level, combining funk, rock, latin, and drum n bass into unforgettable compositions. Hailing from Boston, these four ubiquitous musicians jam together onstage as one while holding down a solid groove that compels one to move at least eleven muscles in synchronicity with the music. This band continues to expand their following throughout New England.Sound Helmet is a recording of this band playing live in the studio, showcasing not only various compositional styles, but jamming solos and interaction. The final layer of this production adds subtle yet tasty alterations that will tweak your brain and make you feel happy. Check out some tracks from our debut album, Sound Helmet, below. M.O. Joe was a great band I wrote and recorded an album with from 2004-2005. Originally, we all got together while playing as the Freelance Bishops. Once we decided to write an album, the music we wrote started to develop it's own personality - one certainly different than that of the Bishops. So we decided to create a new band, and created M.O. Joe. Great musicians, and great collaboration made this home-grown CD really rock. You can check out and purchase the CD on cdbaby.com.

SEXTET 01-02

One of the best experiences I was fortunate enough to have while a T.A. at UMASS was being "given" a sextet of the very best musicians in the department to lead, and more-over, to write and arrange a full album's worth of material for. I was truly blessed with some of the most open, accepting, able and mostly talented musicians I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. I was able to write to their strengths and personalities, and with their help, recorded a large part of my soul.

TRIO 04-05

This is possibly the best band I will ever play with.. And, one of the best drummers, and one of the best people I've ever known, Dennis Babin, is the drummer featurrd on these tracks. Dennis Babin was the bridge between my musical worlds in Springfield and out here. He made it possible for me to build the career I have, and I was lucky enough to play regularly with him and Matt Giannaros for a year at The Wonder Bar in Allston, MA. This was possibly the best trio I've ever taken part in. I've lost many of the recordings, but here are a couple of magical tracks I found.
